Hanging out

Our Garden

We finally planted our garden! Jake built a new raised garden bed since our other one from last year didn't get enough sun and was to small. We planted a Cherry Tomatoe plant, 2 squash, 2 zucchini, 6 corn, a couple bush green beans and a row of carrots. Hopefully all will do well. We cheated and bought most of the plants already started. The only plants we planted by seed were the green beans and carrots. We are looking forward to eating our home grown veggies.

(The poles on the side hold lattice, so the dogs can't get in and rearrange our plants or nibble on them.)

Zach's blessing

March 22, 2009

Four generations

After the blessing we went back to our house for lunch. We ate Carne Asada, Polo Asada, Rice, Beans, Flan and Pineapple upside down cake. We love spending time with our families. Thank you Ben for cooking all of the 14lbs of meat on the grill.

A day at the Beach

We were able to enjoy the beach with Jake's sister Lisa and her family while they were visiting from Idaho. It was Zach's first time to the beach and we were'nt totally prepared. We knew we were going to the beach, but forgot to bring the necessary supplies. This is why in the picture we are using a regular umbrella since we forgot our big one. But to our suprise, the rain umbrella works great for the sun.

Stuff Animals

We are acutally able to put Zach down for more then 10 minutes with using the stuff animals as his entertanment. It's great! I put them on his legs and when he moves them he thinks the animal is moving. He also likes to eat them!

CRAZY HAIR

First Smiles on Film

I finally caught Zach smiling on camera! It's so hard. He either just looks at the camera wondering what it is or he has a surprised face from the flash.

Zach's suprised look! Look he's actually holding onto his rattle!

The Zoo

We took Zach to the zoo for his first time. He slept the whole time. Yeah i know he's to young to enjoy it, but i still wanted to take pictures of him in front of some animals. Oh well, we enjoyed our time with Laurie, Sam and Jake! Thanks for inviting us!
Zach in his animal outfit all ready to go to the zoo!

These are the Tigers actually playing at the zoo!

Cakes for Relief Society

I did two cakes for Enrichment night for Relief Society. Of course the day i started on the cakes Zach just wanted my attention! He didn't want to be put down. Jake was sick so i couldn't just let him take him. It took 3 hours just to put a crumb layer of frosting on the cake. I would do a little bit here and there. Zach also didn't want to sleep. I would finally get him down and 10 or 15 minutes later he would wake up. Very frustrating. It took me 2 days to finish both cakes and i was tired by the end of it. Why is it whenever you need to or want to get something done is when your child demands your attention. They have a sixth sense!!

I wrote Relief Society on this cake, but didn't get a picture of it afterwards.
