Night time Zoo

I LOVE this look on his face.

The lion was right there. The sign read to be careful...Lion can spray 7-10 feet. EEKKK!
This was in the new Elephant exhibit.

Zach enjoyed this trip to the zoo more then any other time we have gone. He was actually interested in the animals and loved to stare. Also it was a lot nicer going to the zoo in the evening time. It wasn't as hot and the animals were actually out and moving around.

Coronado

Zach's first time on a slide!

First time on a swing!

La Jolla Shores

First time his feet have been the ocean water. It was cold and he did NOT like it.

What is Jake looking at I wonder??!!

Somehow even though he never sat on the sand he got sand down his diaper. Mystery!

Our little guy was all "tuckered" out by the end!

Fun in the pool!

We escaped the heat from Hemet and went to San Diego for 5 days. We went swimming 3 times during our stay and Zach loved it. He loves the water!

Sam was standing up all by himself. We've got a little surfer on our hands!

Naked babies in the pool!
One of the days we didn't bring Zach and Megan in the pool, but at the very end they were just so hot that we dipped them in for a tiny bit.
Of course babies need baths right after being in the pool! Zach's first bath with a girl. (and it better stay that way)

Zach's First Camping Trip

We went camping in Lake Arrowhead 2 weeks ago and it was a lot of fun. At first we were unsure how Zach would do with not only the drive, but with sleeping in a strange place. Proud to say he did so good. He loved being outdoors and he slept better camping then he does at home. The wind kept us up during the night, but Zach slept right through it. We brought his excersaucer with us and it was a life saver. He played in that while we sent up camp, then while doing dinner and was great. We had foil dinners, dutch oven pineapple upside down cake and smores. Then for breakfast we had pancakes and sausage. Food tastes so good when you're camping.

Zach in his own Personal tent (inside our tent)

Nothing beats roasting marshmallows!

Except when Jake feeds it to your 6 months old son!
And yes he actually got some....he had chocolate on his mouth.

Lake Arrowhead! This is a great view not too far from where we camped!
The town was cute and the lake so beautiful. It made us want a vacation house there with our own boat. (we can dream right)

Sweet Potatoes!

Zach's first REAL food . . . . . Sweet Potatoes.

He loved them!
He eats a whole thing of them every evening and still wants more. I can't wait to see how he likes his next new food. The only part I don't like is the smell of the diapers!

Sheriff Badge Cake!

Jake and I spent hours on this cake for Kerry Rhodes graduation from the Sheriff Academy. We made it look exactly like the Sheriff Badge. If that's not enough we also made cupcakes.

4th of July Fun

All American Hunk 2009
(so says his shirt)

We made our own little parade around the neighborhood.
All the kids decorated their bikes, Zach decorated his stroller!

We had a fun 4th of July! Sadly Jake had to work, but Laurie invited us to party at her house and it was so much fun. There was lots of food, a craft for the kids, swimming (for this kids), the parade, decorating the cake (as the flag), a pinata (which we never got too) and Fireworks! We love going to parties at Laurie's house and want to thank her for the great time!

Fireworks

The Fireworks and Sparklers were a big hit for the kids and the adults!

My camera has a Fireworks setting on it and it made these fireworks look even better then they were in person!

The Garden is Growing!

Our garden has gotten so big. We have been able to enjoy squash, zucchini, cherry tomatoes and as of last night corn on the cob! All of it tastes so good and even better since WE grew it!

Even the dogs liked the corn on the cob. We gave them the cob after we were done and they picked it clean!

Sitting Up

Such a big boy! I can't believe Zach is sitting up. He gets better and better each day. He went from 30 seconds to now a couple of minutes in just a few days. Before we know it, he'll be walking!

Happy Birthday Jake!

So I'm a few days late in posting this, but I still wanted to wish my husband a very Happy Birthday!!

Jake and Zach being ever so cute! I love watching them play together!
